Drop-Off Day  - Coconino County Health and Human Services

Saturday, 24 October 2026 @ 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM

Special Event  -  Adults

Drop-Off Day connects residents with safe, free, and convenient disposal and recycling services for household hazardous waste and other hard-to-recycle materials. Through community partnerships, the events divert waste from the landfill, protect public health and the environment, and makes responsible disposal more accessible. We need help from volunteers to help keep the event running smoothly. Volunteer position and roles include: (1) Greeters: - Count the number of vehicles (using a clicker), - Provide directions to community members based on the items they brought. (Example: the e-waste vendor is at the fourth station around the bend.) - Provide community members with waste diversion outreach materials. - Help answer any questions if time allows. (2) Material Collection - Assist with lifting items out of vehicles and placing them in the correct bin/area, as directed by station lead. (3) Traffic Control - Keep traffic moving safely. - Direct vehicles to drop-off location. (4) Rover/Floater - Collect small drop-off items from vehicles to reduce traffic. - Relieve other volunteers for breaks.
